We all know the many famous cases of celebrity additions such as; Eminem, Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Lohan, and Kiefer Sutherlans. Although, Bruno Mars; the newest addict to the list. He recently pleaded guilty to having 2.6 grams of cocaine in his pocket. Personally, I love Bruno Mars, and I know all of his songs off by heart, he's my version of Justin Bieber. Let’s imagine for a minute that Justin Bieber was found taking a bong hit with Miley Cyrus. Half of the world’s female children and teens would either follow the example that has been set or become ever so dramatic about the incident.
The power of fame is astonishing; every little girl and every little boy once dreams about living the good life with all the money, popularity, and glamour. But in reality, it's not always an amazing life style.
It's fair to say everyone has an idol and it is understandable to think that teens today would follow the example of their idols. A perfect example of this right now is the Justin Bieber haircut. When you see your role models doing something the most common reaction is to follow their lead. It's the same as a toddler or small child, following the lead of those around them, the one's they literally look up to. The key difference that we as teens need to watch out for is that we do what we feel is right, not just because we saw it on TV or read it in a magazine.
ReplyDeleteI think that celebrties always have an ideal mask on. I totally agree with the comment above. If your role model or a celebrity you like presents you with a new idea, then that becomes the trend. Many celebrities demonstrate difference between trend and style. Such as, Lady Gaga has her own style of music and fashion, which is rare to be seen on the streets. (Unless you have the guts to go out in fishnet and bra). On the other hand, Justin Beiber is more of a trend leader. He wears many American Apparel sweaters or certain jeans to motivate the fans to wear the similar clothes and acessories as him. Overall, I think that teenagers should open their eyes more, on how trends comes and goes, but style of who they are cannot change.
ReplyDeleteu are completely right. it is a very influential industry. myself actually been invovlved in some industry things in the past. the life of glitz and glamour isnt always what it seems. while it feels amazing being in the spotlight. backstage things go on that can be harmfull and effect you more than you ever know !! and yes i miley cyrus made a huge mistake of doing drugs but that is something people right here in our very own school do . the difference is they are watched by millions of people and they pay a huge price when they make those mistakes.
