The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

In the beginning of the movie it shows a group of friends, Erin, Kemper, Morgan, Andy, and Pepper on their way to a Lynard Skynard concert in Texas. As they are driving they come across a confused looking hitchhiker. They take her in the van and offer to drive her anywhere that she needs. Once in the van they all notice that she is very distraught, tired looking, and shaky. They ask hegr what happend and she talks about a "very bad man" that did terrible things to her. She becomes very nervous and pulls out a gun from under her dress and shoots herself in the head. As the group is in shock from what had just happend they decide to call the police and tell them what happend. They drive to a local convinience store and ask the clerk to use the phone. The clerk informs them that the local sheriff is at the old mill. Once at the mill a young boy tells them that the sheriff is at home. Kemper and Erin decide to go intot he woods in search of the sheriffs home, they come across a old home with a amputee man on the porch. They ask to use the phone and only Erin is allowed in. When she is inside the man, Monty asks Erin to help him in the tub. As this is taking quite a long time Kempur decides to enter the hosue to see whats taking so long. As he is searching forErin LeatherFace comes up behind him and stabs a sledgehammer into Kempurs back. He then drags his body into the basement and closes the steel heavy door. Meanwhile at the mill the sheriff arrives and wraps the body in seran wrap and shoves it into the trunk of his cruiser and leaves. Erin than notices that Kempur is missing and goes back tot he group to get them to help her look for him. Once again they arrive at Montys home and Erin distracts him while Andy goes in. the man notices him and Leatherface arrives and chops off one of Andys legs. Erin is still running even though Leatherface left to hang andy from the ceiling in one of the plants. The sheriff arrives ocne again at the scene and searchges their van to find marijuana which leads them to arrest. Pepper and Erin are left in the van when LeatherFace attacks and slices pepper in half. LeatherFace being as disturbed as he is peeled off Kempurs face and placed it on himself. A very scared and confused Erin runs from Leatherface, she manages to escape and comes across a cabin where two women let her in. She then finds out she was drugged and runs away to find Andy. Leatherface attacks again and Erin runs to hide out in a locker. She escapes again and at the very end of the movie it shows policemen at the scene investigating and they bothy ger severly beaten and you can hear them both screaming. This is supposed to suggest that Leatherface is still alive and out there in Texas murdering people. At the very last seconds of the movie it shows a captoon that says "The case is still open today", and the screen turns black.

Horror is a understatment for this movie because it incorporates, murder, suicide, brutality, kidnapping, and most importantly torture.

Friday the 13th

In this movie, Friday the 13th, They show a scene from 30 years ago that shows a boy, Jason, and his mother at at a camping trip at Crystal Lake, the boy had to watch his mother get killed by a camp councelor, after that traumatic incident he stayed to live in Crystal Lake and kills anyone that comes by. A group of friends, Whitney, Mike, Richie, Amanda, and Wade decide to take a road trip to Crystal Lake, because they heard that there is marijuana growing in the woods, but did not know about Jason. After ythe group decides to explore the woods, Jason decides that this is the perfect time to attack. Jason begins to kill members of the group, he kills them but spares Whitneys life and keeps her captive because she resembles his mother. A few weeks later after this incident another group of freinds, Trent, Jenna, Chelsea, Bree, Chewie Lawrence, and Nolan come to enjoy a week at Trent's cottage on the shore of Crystal Lake. Before this group of friends arrived a boy named Clay arrived here in search of his sister Whitney who he believes to be alive. He stumbles upon trents cottage and asks Jenna, Trents girlfriend to go help him look for clues, she agrees and they head to the other side of the lake. Chelsea and Nolan are relaxing on the beach when Jason decides it is a perfect time to kill them both. While Clay and Jenna are out looking for clues to where Whitney might be they witness Jason dragging dead bodies into a abandoned cabin and they run back to the cottage to warn everybody and leave. When they arrive, Lawrence and Chewie do not beleive this and go outside to check and they both get killed by Jason. After that Jason sneaks into the cabin in search of more people to kill, he comes upon Bree and kills her. He notices Trent, Jenna, and Clay but they all run out and escape the cabin. When they reach a main road they search for help but Trent is killed, so Jenna and Clayt run for their lives down the road. They suddenly realiuze that they are back at the campground, and find Clays sister, Whitney, they free her and they all make a escape plan. Sadly Jenna does not make it out of the cabin and Jason brutally murders her. The only two people left, Clay and his sister Whitney run out of the cabin and come face to face with Jason. Since Whitney reminds Jason of hjis mother she plays with his heart and brings up memories which distracts Jason and she manages to stab him in the heart with his own knife. They dump his body into the lake and when their leaving Jason grabs whitney through the dock into the lake. Guess hes never going to leave Crystal Lake. While you are watching this movie it brings up many thoughts, such as: Did Jason kill Whitney already or is she alive and waiting for her brother to come save her?, What was Jason planning to do to Whitney if Clay didnt save her? Was he going to keep her as a mother figure? All these questions are buzzing through your head as your sit at the edge of your seat waiting for answers.

The Last Exorcism

This movie, The Last Exorcism is about a Reverend, Cotton Marcus who lives in a major city in the state of Louisiana with his wife and disabled son. Cotton is used to performing many exorcisms on possessed people but his faith faded about learning that a autistic child has been killed during a exorcism. Cotton himself has a disabled son so this brought great anxiety for him. This leads to Cotton deciding that he will make a documentary about exorcisms and how its fraud. He wants to raise awareness that this is giving yourself up for science and not for Jesus Christ. When this starts he chooses a random family that claims they have a possessed daughter, and he sets up cameras and microphones around the room for the documentary. That night the daughter that Cotton supposively cured appeared in his bedroom, and to prove that she was not possessed, Cotton took her to the local hospital for testing, and the doctor said she in perfect physical condition. Cotton takes the girl home and that night there was many disturbances in the house such as the girl clawing her brother in the face and drowning a bloody cat in the bathtub. When Cotton and his crew are asleep, Nelly, the possessed girl goes into their room and steals their recording camera. She takes it into a different room and beats a cat to death. When she gets back to Cottons room she tries to bash the camera on his head too to kill him but his crew stops her. Nell's family soon gets a call from the local hospital that she was tested and they have news that Nell is pregnant. This is a huge shock for everyone, when they ask her who she had sex with she responds, "the devil inside me". Nell's family insists that Cotton and his crew leave and as they are leaving, Nell attacks them and that’s when Cotton decides to perform another exorcism. They all go back into the Room where she killed the cat and she claims that the demon is going into her and she bends backwards and openly breaks three of her fingers. After a lot of discussion with the group Nell confesses to have had sex with a boy in school, and she was doing all this crazy stuff to get everybody's minds off the pregnancy. When the crew is leaving they stop by a coffee shop where the boy Nell claims to have had sex with works, and they ask him about Nell and he tells them that he is gay and never had sex with her. After that they return to the family's house to sort out their confusion, when they arrive no one is in the house so they walk behind the house where they find the family around a fire with a crucifixion cross and Nell giving birth to what is not a human, but some sort of demon baby. She then throws it into the fire, and then they get attacked and their camera falls to the ground and keeps recording what is happening. That is the end of the movie and I believe this movie is one of the most bone chilling movies you can watch because it really is a tough movie to figure out, you have to pay attention the whole time, but that isn’t a problem because this movie will have your adrenaline running. Overall I think this movie was very successful meaning that they conveyed exorcisms, possessions, and demons very well. If you haven’t seen this movie I strongly suggest you do.

The Final Destination

This movie, The Final Destination, begins 10 years after the Plane Crash 180, Nick one of t he main characters has a horrifying forewarning where there were many horrific events which all caused race cars to crash at a speedway racetrack, which would crash into the stands killing his friends and causing the top stands to come collapsing down on him. After this premonition, he persuades his friends and girlfriend, Lori to leave to save their lives. Just seconds after they leave Nicks premonition becomes a reality and the stands actually do come crashing and killing people. Nick keeps having these premonitions and people keep dying. One of Nicks friends got really mad and decided to light a cross on fire on a lawn to blame everyone for the blowup. A few seconds later the audience learns that his plan did backfire and he got caught on fire and was brutally dragged down the street by a tow truck in flames. Then at the end he is blown up and his head lands on the doorstep of another friends lawn. The next day Nick thought that maybe this would be over and they cheated dearth, but then they hear that another person has died by a rock being caught in a lawn mower and went through her head. This movie has a lot of violent scenes that portray the killings of all Nicks friends. More friends die when one guy is in a pool and his intestines and being sucked in through the pool filter. Another friend is diced into pieces when a huge truck hits him and sends him flying into a chain link fence. Another friend is killed when a collapsed ceiling sends a bathtub crashing onto him. Nick has another premonition that his girlfriend will be crushed by a elevator and her friend will be caught in a burning movie theater, but he manages to save both. A few weeks later Nick, his girlfriend, and her friend are celebrating that they have survived, right when a truck comes swerving into them and crushes them all. This is the end of the movie and it has probably left all the viewers in shock and with adrenaline still rushing through their body's. The violence in this movie is very predominant because basically every scene is mainly people dying in bizarre and violent ways.

The Crazies

This movie begins at a baseball game in a small town in Iowa. The local sheriff, David is watching accompanied by his deputy, Russell. Everything is going well at the baseball game until a local resident, Rory enters the outfield with a gun. David shoots the resident because he was about to shoot somebody. David begins to notice stramge behavior from all the residents in Ogden March where they live. The next day after the baseball game incident a local farmer burns down his farm, leaving his wife and son trapped inside. Later in this movie David and Russel find a pilots body in a swamp nearby and then later uncover the plane is also submerged in the water. Later that night the community is shocked to hear that they are going to be held in a quarantine because there is a infection going around the town. David soon learns that his wife is positive for the infection and she is seperated from the rest of the residents. David and Russel escape, and Judy and Becca, a medical assitant tag along. They discuss that they have to leave town, they go around looking for a car but none seem to be working, they then decide to leave town on foot. They finally find a car but then a overhead helicopter notices them, so they drive into what they thought was a abandoned car wash, they soon found out they were wrong when one of the infected car wash employees kills becca. The helipcopter destroys the car, so they are back on foot, leaving Becca behind. Russel soon finds out that he is infected because he shot a on coming car driver. David and his wife Judy flee and soon notice that their town of Ogden Marsh is caught in a huge expolosion. This movie has a huge effect on the audience because of all the unexpected events that happen. This movie leaves the audience sitting at the edge of their seat in excitment, and waiting for whatevers going to happen next.

Boogeyman 2

In the movie, The Boogeyman 2, the main character, Laura suffers from a long term phobia of the boogeyman, she admits herself into a mental health clinic to try to get over her phobia. The first few nights of her stay some really weird stuff goes on, and she starts to see the boogeyman. Nobody believes her but then after a few days, people start dying, the death was associated with their biggest fear, for example this anorexic girl was scared of getting fat, so the boogeyman shoved tubes into her body and grided up food to push into her body, another example is a guy had OCD with cleaning and the boogeyman left cockroaches in his room for his to have anxiety over the mess and that caused him to consume bleach and die. At the end of the movie Laura escapes the mental health clinic but still has paranoia about the boogeyman. The effect on the audience is that their adrenaline is pumping with suspence because of the fact that they feel the same emotion as the characters.

Case 39

In this horror movie directed by Christian Alvart, a social worker, Emily Jenkins played by Renee Zellweger si assigned to investigate the family of a 10 year old Lilith Sullivan, played by Jodelle Ferland because of a sudden drop in her marks, and a emotional struggle with her parents. Emily (Renee) suspects that Lilith(Jodelle) parents abuse her and she orders child services to take her away and put the parentss in a mental institution because of some psychotic behabvior that they showed. Emily was going to put Lilith in a foster home, but she convicved Emily to let her stay with her. After they moved in with each other strange things began to happen to both Emily and Lilith; including another one of Emily's case which involved a young boy killing his parents. Concerned Emily heads to the Mental Facility where Lilith's parents were staying and asks them what is going on with Lilith. She soon figures out that Lilith is a demon and she feeds off other peoples emotions. The only way to kill her is to make her fall asleep, so Emily does this and lights her home on fire with hope that she will die. Turns out that Lilith is fine than Emily decides to take drastic actions, and drives her car over a pier and eventually Lilith drowns.
