NHL 12 goalies and goals

Goalie V-H Technique what does V-H stand for? Well I’m glad you asked. It stands for vertical-horizontal. It is a technique used by goalies similar to the hug post. Goalie V-H is something you see many NHL goalies do throughout the game but something we’ve been missing in the title. The purpose of this technique is to put goalies in better position for passes behind the goal line and also allows for them to more easily push off the post into butterfly. How does this affect your goalie in NHL 12? From the goalie V-H, you will be able to make saves, poke check, and cover the puck. You will also be able to push off the post from this stance and right into butterfly or into the desperation saves.

Updated goalie saves Goalies are always a work in progress. The thing with goalies is that we have to make them balanced. Any tweaks to shooting or AI, and we have to rebalance goalies. They are what one might call a house of cards. Tune a shot this way, and you have the potential to unleash always goals. Much like every other year, we go in and look at all the saves we have in the game and try to tune goalie behavior to allow for goal scoring, yet still have goalies feel natural. We have also improved the puck tracking for goalies this year. What this means for goalies is that they will be better at fighting through the screens and battles in front of the net, and be more agile when skaters are pulling dekes on breakaways and in close.

And theres Goalie fightss When you run the goalie, you can expect a tough guy to stand up for his goalie. At times, the goalie will stand up for himself by dropping the gloves and there’ll also be times where the opposing goalie will want a piece of the action too. We saw it happen a couple times this year in the real NHL…if it’s in the game, it’s gotta be in the game!

Boston vs Vancouver

The Boston Bruins haven't won a Stanley Cup since 1972, Bobby Orr's heyday. The Vancouver Canucks have never won a Cup, period, in their 41 year history. One of those streaks ends tonight in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. Already the hard-fought series has featured hard hits or cheap hits depending on your perspectiv, biting ,retribution, heart stopping goals and blowouts. What will tonight bring?

The Canucks will need to solve two problems that have plagued them through much of the series. Boston has outscored Vancouver 19-8, with Roberto Luongo getting blitzed at TD Garden. They'll need something resembling the Luongo who's 3-0 at home with just two goals allowed in three games to have a chance tonight. Meanwhile, the Canucks also need to solve the Bruins' stellar penalty-killing unit, which has allowed just two power play goals all series.

The Bruins, a grinding and opportunistic team but one lacking multiple snipers, will need to find ways to get to Luongo and give Vezina Trophy favourite Tim Thomas a lead to protect. Milan Lucic was Boston's lone 30 goal scorer this season, and Nathan Horton, one of Boston's best scorers during the first three rounds of the playoffs, is out after taking that big hit from Aaron Rome in Game 3.

Your x factor tonight is Henrik Sedin, who had 94 points during the regular season and 21 points through the first three rounds of the playoffs but just a lone goal and no assists against the Bruins. With the last change tonight on home ice, Canucks coach Alain Vigneault will try to move Henrik and his brother Daniel away from Zdeno Chara and Boston's checking forwards, in an effort to gain exploitable matchups. If he succeeds, Vancouver might finally get to hoist the Cup.

Has it gone too far?

Basketball superstar Kobe Bryant recently facing a hefty fine of $100,000. On Tuesdays game against San Antonio Spurs, Kobe was pulled out of the game due to too many technical fouls. Kobe then said a "gay slur" towards the referee. The next day on Wednesday Kobe found out he has was being charged $100,000 for his actions on Tuesday nights game. Is this a fair punishment just for a couple of words? The NBA is definitley over doing this situation. San Antonio is a big rival of the lakers and Kobe was simply just in the heat of the moment. Any ordinary person on the street wouldnt even get charged for saying what he said. I'm sure Kobe didnt really mean what he said and it was just out of anger. There has been many other worst incidents in sports than a simple slur. France national soccer team player Zidane head butted Italy player and was only charged $25,000. Is Kobe Bryants incident worst than Zidanes? Is it worth 80,000 dollars more? Personally I think Zidanes incident is by far much worst than Kobes yet Kobe has to pay roughly 80,000 dollars more.

"Bring hockey back to Toronto"

Recent story on CTV involves local Toronto neighbourhood making a complaint over a city by-law. The city of Toronto has had a by-law for awhile now saying hockey is not allowed to be played on the streets. Neighbourhood in Toronto feels this law should be abolished. There are many reasons why these people/parents feel this way. One of the reasons for example are for financial reasons. Not every family can afford to put there kids in organized hockey which can sometimes be expensive depending on the skill level and team. Every kid should be able to play hockey freely on the streets without any cost. Its extremely unfair to kids that don't have the money to play to be excluded from the sport. Another example is for the issue of obesity. People say children these days are getting too caught up in television, video games and other entertainment that is pulling them away from physical activity. They say children these days don't get out and play enough. Its kind of hard for kids to get out and play when they cant play one of Canada's most popular official sports on the streets of their neighbourhood. Hockey is an activity that is very popular in Canada and has been since it was created. It is ridiculous how Toronto has banned it from being played on the streets of their city. Another argument used is that it keeps kids or even teens busy and off the streets causing trouble. When kids get bored that is when they start wondering the streets and causing problems. Kids on the street playing hockey would cause a lot less problems then kids vandalizing or selling drugs because they have nothing better to do. Local neighbourhoods are now trying to pressure city council to try and get Canada's game of hockey back on the streets of Toronto.

Melo Drama Comes to a Close, or Does it?

On February 22nd, the Denver Nuggets had come to a trade agreement that would send All-Star Small Forward Carmelo Anthony to the New York Knicks in a multi-player deal. Carmelo Anthony now joins All-Star Power Forward Amar'e Stoudemire on a rejuvenated Knicks team.

But for this trade to happen, there had to be plenty of movement between the teams players. This trade also included the Minnesota Timberwolves trading players to the Knicks. So in all, the 3 team trade deal included 13 players, and big changes to each organization.

The players included in this deal include to the New York Knicks from the Timberwolves Corey Brewer and Kosta Koufus in exchange for Forwards Anthony Randolph and Eddy Curry.

The big talk about this trade is the exchange of players from the Denver Nuggets including Small Forward Carmelo Anthony, Veteran Point Guard Chauncey Billups, Guard Anthony Carter, and bench players Renaldo Balkman and Sheldon Williams for some of the Knicks key role players this year.

Players moved to Denver include rookie Center Timofey Mozgov, a rising star at the Point Guard position in Raymond Felton, and key Small Forwards in Danillo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler.

Rumors about Anthony moving to another team have been the talk of the NBA since the start of the 2010-11 season. After the blockbuster free agent signing of All-stars Chris Bosh and Lebron James to the Miami Heat to join Dwayne Wade, people were waiting to see what other big moves would occur.

And then when Amar'e went to the Knicks this off season and has been leading them to great success this year, it was thought by many that Melo would eventually end up in New York.

And on thursday night, Carmelo's Knicks debut, he did not dissappoint. Carmelo's homecoming had him score 27 points and grab 10 rebounds in the game. Madison Square Garden was cheering Melo's every move, and things are looking even better for New York right now.

At least to the public.

I personally believe that this team is going to be a threat, but I also believe that their could be some problems along the way. People seem to be over looking certain information, like his first game on a new team was against the struggling Milwaukee Bucks, and it was not a dominant victory, only winning by 6.

Stats wise, they have alot of fire power in Carmelo now and player who will try night in and night out, but the Knicks have lost 3 playes (Felton, Gallinari and Chandler) that have been solid this year, each averaging over 15 points and 4 rebounds. Felton specifically is about 18 PPG, 4 RPG and 9 APG, while Billups is only about 16 PPG and 2 RPG with only 5 RPG.

Im not saying that this team is going to be bad, but overcoming a sort of rebuild process this late in the season could possibly pose a problem.

The teams true test will be against the Miami Heat on February 27th, facing off against a new team with a number of all-stars on the same roster.

The past Knicks- Heat Rivalry only adds to the exictement of this game, and I believe the play of both teams will make a significant statement to all the teams in the league.
