Leatherface attacks again and Erin runs to hide out in a locker. She escapes again and at the very end of the movie it shows policemen at the scene investigating and they bothy ger severly beaten and you can hear them both screaming. This is supposed to suggest that Leatherface is still alive and out there in Texas murdering people. At the very last seconds of the movie it shows a captoon that says "The case is still open today", and the screen turns black.

Horror is a understatment for this movie because it incorporates, murder, suicide, brutality, kidnapping, and most importantly torture.
