In japan 25% of all of the cars that are used everyday are used to compete in illeagal street racing on the streets and highways on downtown tokyo japan. of the 25% of all cars that compete in these races nearly all of the drivers are between the ages of 19 and 28, do you think that this is just coincidince or just plain fact that the youth drivers of tokyo have a disregard for vehicle regulations and speed limits drifting around corners and driving up to three times the posted speed limit on small roads through the downtown core. Now being that people from other cultures and parts of the world tend to emulate other cultures to make them seem cooler or more popular but drifting as the japenese call it is a spreading phenomenon through the far reachs of the world using technologys such as Youtube and google video, which makes it easy to get hold of videos of cars drifting and sliding around corners.
In the united states and australia they have professinal teams and demonstrators that preform drifting for gigantic crowds making a huge profit for the event organizers and the teams aswell. Here is a couple videos of drift teams around the world:

As you can see this a phenomenom that is used around the world today. Should it be banned you be the judge.
