the g20 Summit

last year toronto was the host for a event so huge the event commishers had to call in the military to protect the majour leaders of the different countries attending the G20,G8 events. During previous G8 and G20 events in other parts of the world there has mass rioting and entire citys rising up against the events happening in there city. But in toronto the g20 leaders thought that a peacefull place such as toronto But whoa were they wrong. During the events toronto experienced uproar with police vehicles being burned, windows smashed and worst of all a make shift prison where arrested rioters were detained in horrible conditions that were just plain unspeakable. The main reason for the violent clashes with police was due to the group of anarcists the black block. Here are some of the disturbing photos taken at the summit protest As you can see very powerfull stuff the pictures came out kind of wonky if you would like to see the pictures more clearly please go to this link: http://www.ctv.ca/gallery/html/g8-g20-toronto-violent-protests-20100626/index_.html and that is what i said.

  1. why are the black bloc being labeled as anarchists? At no point during their "protest" did they express any anarchistic inclinations, in fact there was hardly any message at all to their "protest" aside from violence and chaos.
not to mention the entire genuinity of the blac blocs status as protesters seems dubious, and I am suspicious of it being a police hoax, to justify their tyrannical suppression of the rights of the G20 protesters.

  2. In my law class last semester, we actally went into a full out debate about the g20 summit. The big question was whether or not the police took it to far. Personally, I don't think they did because it's their job to protect the city of Toronto and sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. The black bloc clearly did not consist of peaceful protesters and therefore desperate measures needed to be enforced.

  3. This was not peaceful protest. Did the police go to far? No. If the protesters meant to be peaceful, then why did they have the need to hide their faces? The protesters at the G20 summit were breaking the law and the police cracked down. They went there, looking for a fight, got one, and lost. The police have every right to break up the crowd once it violent. No one should complain about what happen to create peace from the chaos.
