Broken Free
It is time for me to depart this world and return home. You have shown me great things about you, both good and bad, but for the bad I see hope. You are learning how to break free from the stereotypes and the messages you face every day. Within this class, we were not taught about media, we were taught to think about media. We were shown what to look for in what the companies tell us and how not to be fooled by their tactics. We need to take these skills and use them to be smarter than most others. We are able to think about what we see. We now have the responsibility to make informed decisions and not follow the herd. I only hope that when I leave, through the same doors as you, that we all remain independent thinkers. Be smarter than those who think you are weak and gullible. Coming to this word was quite an experience and I have learned much. I am sure to take home with me, the stories and memories of my time here.

With all that I have learned in this class, I am now looking at the world with completely new eyes. I realize things I have never noticed before!
ReplyDeleteI know that from being in this class I will no longer be fooled by the sneaky advertising tactics, or secret codes they use to get people to buy this product. This class has forever changed my life for the better !
I feel like everyone in this class will be leaving with way more knowledge about ' this world we live in.' The world of media.

This class has actually been very rewarding, because i think everyone has taken something positive from it. I've always been able to question what the media tells me, to be able to make my own informed decisions about things, but never to the extent of what i can today. Really going indepth and learning that people don't always tell you everything you need to know, makes it crucial to question everything, and I mean EVERYTHING.
